Rick Fearon should apologise for accusing faders of being cowards
by cedars ini hate doing this type of thread.
none of us are perfect, least of all myself, and i would rather focus any criticism on the watch tower society for damaging people's lives.
however, in the short period since i've been a member of this forum i've noticed one member in particular deteriorate in his behaviour into the type of individual who threatens to undermine the credibility of the entire website.

But the likelihood of a JW woman actually behaving with this sort of civility towards her husband--this is just another example of how the textbook is NOTHING like real life. Or maybe I just grew up in the wrong congregation or something...
Hmmm, that does explain why you've put up with certain behaviour from the woman you're married to.

Does your heart still race when suddenly coming accross a JW?
by Fernando init did for me even though i eventually walked out on my terms and fully convinced of the apostasy of the watchtower pharisees and sanhedrin (governing body).. initially it was very confusing and bewildering since i was a 3rd generation born-in and the watchtower was the only "reality" i'd known for more than 40 years.. a psychologist diagnosed ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder) and recommended attending a cult conference and workshop for victims of psychological manipulation.
i learnt about "triggers" that cause turmoil and upset whilst one is suffering from ptsd.. for nearly 2 years i could not answer a phone without a minor panic attack.
i could only respond to voicemails.

In a serious attitude, I tell them how I used to be really interested, and how much I used to love the magazines, but because of the rampant abuse amongst them, my conscience does not allow me to have anything to do with them anymore. They end up not knowing what to say, and they end up saying "I'm sorry" then they leave with their tails between their legs.
That's a good one.
In the past, rather than say I used to be a JW, I just say that I have relatives who are JWs (true) and that I know about their beliefs. It helps cover if you say anything that the average person wouldn't know eg JW terminology, doctrines etc.

I met 2 JWs I've known since childhood a few weeks ago.
I was treated like crap even though I'm not even da'd or df'd.
Thanks to their "love" I'll never go back!

Disrespectful way of treating a bible, isn't it?

Get a DNA test as soon as you can. If you think it's too expensive, consider how much it will cost to raise someone else's kid for 18 years.

She confessed because it was bothering HER alot, that it was hurting HER conscience etc.
Nowhere do we hear that she did it out of concern for YOU.
Get out before she falls pregnant (on purpose or otherwise). Once a partner has cheated on you, it's very hard to forget it, let alone get over it. It's best to cut your ties now and get on with your life.
